Galvanized metal corrugated pipe
Classification :
PRODUCT DETAILS
Prestressing corrugated pipes are primarily used in prestressed concrete structures to create channels, protect, and guide prestressing strands or reinforcing bars. They are commonly classified into two main categories: **plastic corrugated pipes (HDPE) and metal corrugated pipes (galvanized steel strip).
Core Applications
Forming Prestressing Ducts
Installed prior to concrete pouring, they form smooth ducts after curing, facilitating the insertion and tensioning of steel strands.
Protecting Prestressing Members
They isolate the strands from concrete, water, and chloride ions, preventing corrosion and extending the structure’s service life.
Ensuring Dense Grouting
The smooth inner walls of the corrugated pipes facilitate the subsequent injection of cement grout, ensuring that the steel strands and concrete act as a single unit under load.
Positioning and Guidance
Secures the position of prestressing tendons, ensuring accurate curves and alignment, and preventing displacement during pouring.
Typical Applications
1. Highway/Railway Bridges (Primary Application)
- Longitudinal prestressing ducts for box girders, T-beams, and hollow-core slabs
- Continuous beams, rigid-frame bridges, and bridges constructed using formwork baskets
- Wet joints on bridge decks, transverse prestressing, and vertical prestressing
2. Municipal Engineering
- Elevated bridges, interchanges, and ramp bridges
- Prestressed structures in large underground utility tunnels, subway station ceilings, and side walls
- Prestressed tank walls in large water tanks and wastewater treatment facilities
3. High-Rise Buildings and Long-Span Structures
- Long-span frame beams, transfer beams, and prestressed floor slabs
- Prestressed hidden beams in high-rise shear walls and tube structures
- Large-span roof beams for large parking garages, convention centers, and sports arenas
4. Water Resources and Special Engineering
- Sluice gates, aqueducts, and prestressed retaining walls
- Special prestressed concrete structures such as nuclear power plant containment vessels and large storage silos
Differences in the Applications of the Two Types of Corrugated Tubes
- Metal Corrugated Tubes
High stiffness and stable positioning; commonly used for straight, short strands, and vertical prestressing; frequently employed in traditional bridges.
- Plastic Corrugated Tubes (HDPE)
Low friction, excellent corrosion resistance, and more compact grouting; commonly used for long curved prestressing strands, cross-sea bridges, and highly corrosive environments; currently the mainstream choice.
