Tensioning Prestressed Tendons

Applying tension to steel strands, cold-rolled ribbed bars, and wire bundles to impart prestress to concrete structures, thereby enhancing tensile strength, crack resistance, and load-bearing capacity.

Anchoring and Locking

After tensioning is complete, the load is held in place; in conjunction with anchorage devices, the prestressed tendons are locked to maintain the designed tension.

Unanchoring and Relaxing

Loosening or releasing the prestressing tendons during construction adjustments, inspections, or demolition.

Testing and Calibration

Used for tensile testing of anchorages, steel strands, and anchor cables, as well as for calibrating jacks and hydraulic pumps.

Reinforcement and Jacking

Structural reinforcement, external prestressing, and jacking to correct misalignment of structural members.

Applicable Tensioning Methods

- Post-tensioning: For cast-in-place or precast beams on site—insert tendons → tension → anchor (mainstream)

- External prestressing: Tensioning and reinforcement applied to the exterior of the structure

- Single-strand/bundle tensioning: Tensioning of individual steel strands or multiple strands as a single unit
